Deucekat's Gift Guide for Tennis Players - Gift the Essentials
With the holiday season approaching, I have put together my personal list of my picks for gifts for tennis enthusiast. Whether you're shopping for a seasoned player or someone who has just picked up a racket, there is a wide range of options to choose from.
Here are my personal favs for gifts for tennis players:
When considering what to by for someone that plays tennis, start with the essentials: clothing, shoes, tennis balls, strings, tennis bags, water bottles, as these are things that every tennis player needs on court and will appreciate.
A white pleated tennis skirt - a staple for sure for any tennis girlie! For use on and off the tennis court, I highly recommend the NikeCourt Dri-FIT Advantage
Women's Pleated Tennis Skirt. A personal favorite of mine because I love how this skirt provides style, yet has the technical fabric to keep up with my tennis game! I also love how the pleats stay fresh after washing, so no ironing required.
Strings - Yes, we tennis players change the strings in our tennis racquets (at least we should be changing them). Some tennis players have their favorite brand or type because the options for tennis strings is vast. My personal favorite are the Solinco Heaven Strings Tour Bite . Having the right strings can dramatically change your tennis game and offer comfort while hitting the ball depending on the configuration.
3. Tennis Bag - I may be a bit biased (just a little), but Deucekat Tennis Bags are the perfect gift for the holidays or anytime of the year. I designed and sketched the fabrics for Deucekat Tennis Bags to be colorful and stylish, yet functional for the recreational player looking to carry a couple of tennis racquets, phone, keys and other small essentials.
4. Tennis Balls - There are so many brands and types to choose from, and certain balls serve different purposes. If you want get someone a ball that is great for practice against a wall or just rallying, the Wilson Triniti All Court Tennis Balls are a great gift option, because they are designed to be used multiple times. But for matches and other playing scenarios, I am a big fan of Penn Tennis Balls.
Other ideas:
Accessories such as tennis balls, grips, and a durable bag for carrying equipment can make for thoughtful presents. Stylish tennis apparel or a personalized tennis towel can add a touch of flair to their game. For tennis fans off the court, books on tennis history or biographies of legendary players are sure to be a hit. My favorite books that I always recommend are: Open by Andre Agassi and The Inner Game of Tennis: The Classic Guide to the Mental Side of Peak Performance .
Shop and Support Local Tennis Stores
In many cities, tennis shops are hard to come by these days. Although it’s great to shop online, I do appreciate shopping in person, especially when it comes to trying on tennis shoes and testing out a new tennis racquet. Check out your local tennis store for gift finds. If you don’t know what you’re looking for in terms of a gift, shopping in person at a local tennis shop will be a great place to get some direction and support local and family owned operations. If you are in the Los Angeles area, my favorite tennis stores to shop at are The Racket Doctor and Buster Pro.
