I was inspired to play tennis, not by the game of tennis itself, but by the fashion of tennis. I needed an excuse to wear cute tennis clothes! From knee high socks, to brightly colored dresses and shoes, catsuits, ballerina inspired dresses, and the classic pleated skirts, tennis players definitely have unlimited ways of highlighting their personal style.
The fashion of tennis has evolved immensely over the course of the professional sport. In the 1900s, women's tennis fashion consisted of long restrictive all white uniform like skirt and shirt combinations. Today, the trend is vibrantly colored, highly technical and high-fashion inspired sporty looks. The fashion of tennis will continue to evolve to be more trendy as the sport grows a broader fan base.
I have always enjoyed expressing myself through my clothing and accessories, especially on the tennis court. I truly believe that vibrant colors positively affect our moods and have the power to uplift our spirits.
